Unsurpassed Hardware and Software for Industrial Environments

BTI computers, PLCs, and other electrical components are all housed in industrial, NEMA 12-rated enclosures built to NFPA 79 standards. Electrical enclosures for automatic machines are internally lit for serviceability and air-conditioned for harsh environments.

Industrial Computers

BTI utilizes industrial computers for use in harsh manufacturing environments. Our PCs feature many commercially available cards and components to provide high quality, exceptional reliability, and lower maintenance costs to our customers. Solid State Drives (SSDs) are used to provide unparalleled system robustness, low power consumption, rapid start-up speeds, and increased reliability and uptime. Our PCs utilize a Microsoft Windows-based operating system for familiarity and ease of use.

PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)

In machine control, BTI has extensive experience in delivering advanced control software to meet the most demanding applications and specifications. We have years of experience programing all major PLC brands, including (but not limited to) Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, and Mitsubishi. BTI will implement your unique specifications and controls requirements with strong technical skill and programing excellence.

Backed Up for Life: PC and PLC

Recognizing uptime is import, BTI creates a complete PC system image of your computer prior to shipment. This image is saved and backed up on BTI’s secure server for the life of the machine. The backup software is installed on your PC, so BTI service or plant personnel can perform a backup at any time. In addition, the PLC logic is also backed up prior to shipment, and it too is saved and backed up on BTI’s secure server for the life of the machine.

Representative BalCORE Hardware

BTI’s BalCORE measurement system runs on an industrial PC rather than an office machine. A typical build carries:

6-slot PCI industrial chassis, 24 VDC powered
Intel® Core™ i5 processor with integrated graphics
Two Intel Ethernet ports, two RS232 serial ports, six USB ports
Solid-state drive — no spinning media in a vibrating environment
NEMA-rated 19 in. industrial touch flat panel monitor

Component lists are representative of a typical build and change with availability and application. That is deliberate: because these are commercially available industrial boards rather than proprietary assemblies, replacement parts are typically in stock and can ship the same day.

PLC Control

Machine sequencing runs on an industrial-brand PLC with touchscreen controls, integrated to a 24 VDC electrical control system with Ethernet connections to the BalCORE measurement system. Where you have a plant PLC standard, we build to it.

Why Not a Black Box

With the exception of our charge amp card, almost everything in a BTI control cabinet is an industry-available component. Your maintenance team can source it, stock it and understand it. We concentrate proprietary engineering on the measurement core that actually differentiates the machine, and buy the rest from the same catalogues you buy from.

Keeping Older Machines Current

Because the architecture is conventional, control hardware can be refreshed without replacing the machine. BTI supplies replacement PCs and PLCs for balancing machines of all brands and models, including competitor equipment.
