Superior Quality

Exceptional Equipment for Demanding Environments

BTI’s equipment is engineered and manufactured to the highest quality standards for use in the most demanding environments. From our “old school,” heavy duty, all-welded steel bases with built-in fork-truck receptacles to our extensive use of precision slides and servomotors, BTI’s equipment is built to last. Furthermore, all BTI enclosures are NEMA 12 rated and are built to NFPA 79 standards. They are commonly internally lit for serviceability and air-conditioned for harsh environments. Additionally, BTI uses industrial computers as well as first-rate, commercially available PLCs and components for exceptional reliability and lower maintenance costs.

Unlike our competitors, we avoid “black box” technology. Rather than try and reinvent the wheel, we instead focus our extensive engineering development expertise on the areas of our core technology that continue to set BTI apart. For non-core items, we use high-quality, industry-available components — that way, we don’t hold our customers hostage for components that can be purchased in the open market. Taking that same philosophy to the next level, we believe our customers should be in control, which is why we provide a complete list of every component on your machine. For non-BTI items, this includes the manufacturer name and specific part number, enabling you to obtain those parts from wherever you’d like.

How Quality Shows Up in the Machine

Quality on a balancing machine is not a finish or a badge — it is the parts you can still buy in ten years and the structure that has not moved. Machine bases are heavy-duty welded steel with all working stations mounted in place, plus leveling, lagging and lifting features. Guarding uses extruded aluminium framing with Lexan or plastic-coated wire mesh panels and an electrically interlocked access door.

Standards We Build To

  • NEMA 12 rated enclosures, commonly internally lit for serviceability and air-conditioned for harsh environments
  • NFPA 79 electrical standards for industrial machinery
  • ISO 21940, SAE International and DIN balancing specifications for machine certification

Calibration and Acceptance

Every machine is calibrated at the BTI factory and can be verified at any time against a certified master part with a known weight at a known radius, and re-calibrated whenever needed. The balance computer stores multiple part-specific calibrations. Machines ship with production balance masters — a customer part modified with a hardened and ground insert and precision holes for certified test weights, supplied in a fitted storage box with certifications.

Preliminary tryout happens in our shop under simulated production conditions before shipment, verifying safety, quality and production rate against your specification rather than against ours.
